Importing Custom Data

Once the excel document that you wish to import to SalesNOW has been correctly organized, and the necessary custom fields have been created on the user’s SalesNOW web account (Please see Custom Import Overview), the user is ready to begin the import.

Step 1: Visit salesnow.com and select setup -> Data Management-> Import Custom Data

Step 2: Next, please click Choose File and select the file that you would like to import into SalesNOW. Once this file has been selected, please select Next.

Step 3: Please now select the types of records that you will be importing and select Next. (Please note that Leads and Deals cannot be imported simultaneously)

Step 4: The first record association that you will be required to identify is the Owner Email. As mentioned in the Custom Import Overview, this column must be entirely filled with the SalesNOW username of the import recipient.

Please now open the drop down list under Import Field and select the column name that you can identify as the owner email.

Step 5: Please then open the other remaining tabs and make sure that all the fields you wish to import, both standard and custom are filled.

Step 6: Once everything has been properly input and the import is being processed, the system will ask whether the user wishes to merge any duplicates. (This merge will only bring together duplicate records found in the Excel spreadsheet).
